Ross Soboleff Haida & Tlingit
Eagle/Sgalans (Sculpin & Frog), Killisnoo and Howkan

I am a lifelong Alaskan and an original Sealaska shareholder. I’ve supported myself and family as a writer, small business owner (37 years), commercial fisherman (40 years), and former VP Corporate Communications of Sealaska Corporation. Currently, I am a legislative aide in the Alaska Legislature during the winter and a power troller in the summer season. I enjoy researching and writing about Alaska and American history.

My parents, Dr. Walter Soboleff Sr. and Genevieve Ross Soboleff, taught me to live the Alaska Native values of respect for oneself and others, respect for and care of subsistence resources, and to lead with humility, among many other values. It is my continuing goal to live up to these values and my belief that these traditions will carry us forward as Native people.

I am honored to stand with Margaret Nelson, Carlton Smith, and Karen Taug to engage a new generation of sharholder/owners and take Sealaska into a prosperous future.
